RDP File Password Encryption

Have you ever looked at a .rdp file (its just a text file) and observed the password entry? It looks something like this:

What it the world does that mean you may ask? Well, this is a 1329 byte encryption of the user’s password. If you have ever wanted to create your own .rdp files, you would either need to leave the password field blank, or type in the password and save it manually - that is until now. Remko Weijnen has written a cool article about how these password are created. He has also created a cool tool to encrypt and decrypt passwords. It’s a pretty interesting read.
